Selected Car Group buys DC Workshop
Selected Car Group acquires a workshop located in Vejle who specializes in racing cars.
Only a few months after the merge between Selected Car Group (SCG) and Solid Leasing the Østergaard-Brunsborg owned car group is yet again on the hunt for acquisitions. This time it is the specialized garage DC Workshop which will become a part of the SCG universe.
Their focus on fast cars and a passion for offering customers and partners access to exclusive events in Denmark and Europe has always been the philosophy of DC Workshop. An approach which is very similar to the values of SCG, which we both regard very highly. Therefore, this acquisition was a good match for the growing car group. Commercial Director (CCO) Jens Christian Tangbæk says:
“DC Workshop stands out from other garages by appealing to the track day and racing segment, which some of our own customers have an increasing interest in. When the opportunity to take over the garage and the skills came, we quickly made the move” says Jens Christian Tangbæk and furthermore adds:
“DC Workshop gives us access to a strong network of partnerships and know-how in Jutland, which complement our network events. This allows us to offer our existing customers even more opportunities for experiences among likeminded car enthusiasts.”
The acquisition of DC Workshop comes on top of a hefty acquisition year with the addition of both CarSelect in Zealand and Germany’s Holden Car Group GmbH, with the latter providing access to an expanded sourcing and purchasing network south of the border. In addition, the group has entered into the partnership with Gubsø Garage in Silkeborg as well as the successful merge with Solid Leasing, which now is followed by the acquisition in Vejle.
The addition of this garage gives SCG access to one of Denmark’s most unique garages with expertise in servicing, repair and optimisation of track day and racing cars.
Furthermore, DC Workshop has arranged track days for their customers throughout Europe, for several years. It has been arranged under the auspices of Driver’s Club, a special network for the biggest car enthusiasts.
“Driver’s Club is a concept that fits very well into our understanding of customer care. With DC Workshop’s experience in creating connections and establishing events, and our access to the sourcing of cars and collaboration with Tom Kristensen we have the opportunity to create unique events of the upmost luxury.” Says Jens Christian Tangbæk.
With DC Workshop as a part of Selected Car Group, SCG will also gain access to the import of original spare parts directly from Lamborghini. Selected Car Group anticipates that with the acquisition the collaboration with it’s long-term business associate, Semler Gruppen the country’s official Lamborghini importer, will become even closer.
“This acquisition is a part of our long-term expansion strategy in Western Denmark and therefore we look forward to DC Workshop continuing with the entire staff intact, the only change being the ownership.
The garage has a strong skillset and a unique access to several importers and customers, whom we are happy to welcome ,whilst at the same time expanding our service options in Jutland.” Says Ulrik Larsen CEO of Selected Car Group.
The founder of DC Workshop, Alexander Christiansen, will continue as the garage manager and with the daily management responsibility for the garage, as well as the four mechanics in the garage. Going forward, the company will market itself as DC Workshop, powered by Selected Car Group.
