BMW

M3 Sedan

History

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house Motorsport Division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models were designed based on the previous E46 model.

The initial model was a coupé but the M3 was also produced as a saloon like this one. The more recent 4 Series now includes the coupé and convertible models. Consequently, these are no longer part of the 3 Series range (from 2015).

The upgrade of the standard 3 Series to an M3 includes a more powerful and responsive engine, better engine sound, improved handling, modified suspension, more powerful brakes, enhanced aerodynamics, lightweight components and the "M" emblem, denoting BMW Motorsport.

BMW’s S65 engine – the M3’s melodious powerhouse – is the V8 that replaced the S54 straight-six engine produced from 2007 to 2013.

The E90, E91, E92 and E93 make up the fifth generation of the 3 Series of luxury cars at entry level, produced from 2004 to 2013. The four body types in the range are the E90 four-door saloon, the E91 five-door Touring, the E92 coupé and the E93 convertible.
