Tom Kristensen becomes an ambassador for Selected Car Group
Paying tribute to motorsport with the new Tom K Award
With a strong sponsorship and a new long-term ambassador agreement to Selected Car Group, Danish motorsport’s Mr. Le Mans Tom Kristensen is ready with a new award in his own name for this year’s Danish Motorsport festival, Danish Motorsport Award.
Tom Kristensen smile is going to be extra wide when this year’s major award ceremony for motorsport is launched for the 11th time. The nine-time winning Le Mans driver has manifested a long-standing collaboration in a new, official ambassadorship with Selected Car Group and has been asked if he would like to put his name to a new award under the auspices of the Danish Automobile Sports Union, which is awarded for the first time at this year’s award event.
The Tom K Award powered by Selected Car Group is an award given to the person or the people who have made extraordinary achievements or have done something very special for motorsport and the people around it and is being given for the first time in connection with DASU’s Danish Motorsports Awards show 2022.
“I am incredibly proud and honored, as the first official step with my new ambassadorship for Selected Car Group, I have been asked by DASU if I would like to put my name to an award in my name, which is dedicated to the passionate people, who work every day to raise motorsport in Denmark” says Tom Kristensen and adds:
“As part of my ambassadorship with Selected Car Group, I’m even able to step on the pedal a little extra and put a cash prize behind the price. I am looking forward to seeing what else the collaboration with Selected Car Group has to offer.”
The ambassadorship for Selected Car Group, which is a long-term collaboration between the car group and Tom Kristensen, will, in addition to the Tom K Award, have the racing legend as a guest at events supported by Selected Car Group, across the group’s leasing and investment initiatives in classic and premium cars.
New ambassadorship opens doors
Tom Kristensen’s new ambassadorship for Selected Car Group is officially launched with this year’s new award, but according to Jens Christian Tangbæk, CCO for Selected Car Group, the partnership holds almost unimaginable possibilities.
“It is a huge privilege to be able to present Tom Kristensen, one of the most iconic Danish racing drivers ever, as part of the Selected Car Group’s universe. We are proud to be able to stand behind him in awarding the new Tom K Award. At the same time, we are looking forward to a strong collaboration with Tom K, where we can jointly focus on motorsport and our passion for cars in the collaboration between Tom Kristensen and Selected Car Group’s various initiatives” says Jens Christian Tangbæk.
SCG will use the experienced racing driver’s insight, passion and network in motorsport across the entire world. Tom Kristensen’s knowledge of motorsport will, amongst other things, ensure the acquisition of exciting investment cars, for Selected Car Investment, charity track day events or demonstration rounds for the group’s customers.
The Tom K Award will be presented on 25th of February as part of a large online awards show which will be streamed on Sunday. A show which last year attracted more than 200,000 viewers. Just like last year, Felix Smith will act as host and toastmaster for the award ceremony.
