Porsche

911/964 Carrera RS

History

This car has been in Danish ownership since 1995 when it was purchased in Germany by a Danish pilot living in Greenland. He used the car as a summer family vehicle when he was at home and it has travelled widely in Europe.

The Carrera RS was a super-lightweight version of the standard 964 Carrera.
It was built by Porsche specically for use in the Carrera Cup series. Like its predecessor, the 1973 2.7 Carrera RS, it is stripped of all luxury to save weight.

It weighs in at a mere 1,220 kg, compared to the standard vehicle’s 1,450 kg. Consequently, an RS is quite a different creature from the standard 964. It is not without reason that the most famous 911 driver of all, Walter Röhrl, has a 964 RS in his collection and, according to him, it is his favourite sports car.
